What a memorable Westlake performance!!! It was such a such a surreal movement and the band was amazing! I will truly remember this one for a long time…

“Georgetown – marching band can be a magical thing. As Georgetown got set up, the rain started pouring. They played anyway. As they started playing, the rain let’s up enough to at least march in. As they reached up at the end of the opener, the sun came out…THAT exact second. And the end of the ballad, as if to mock the rain, thunder sounds come from the pit as the guard pulls raindrops across the field! Planned? I think so. The low brass is grooving throughout this show with some tasty lines. The band falls asleep to Brahms lullaby at the end. The rain didn’t phase this band one bit!”

The band finished 10th in the 5A division with a 10th place finish in percussion, 5th in color guard and 6th place in General Effect! I am so proud of everyone. Keep up the great work and Congratulations Eagle Band!!Also, congrats to the football team for a great win over Stoney Point last Friday!!We have some great performances coming up next week as well. Georgetown High School has been selected to be the feature school on FOX 7 NEWS – HOME TEAM FRIDAY!!! This will involve an early morning pep rally and another filming session during 1st period on Friday. What a great honor! Let’s make sure we are all prepared and professional.Here is the schedule for next week:
