What a great summer marching camp!  Great work, band!  All my best on a fantastic first week of school this week!  A few notes for school week one:</p>
<p><span id="more-1235"></span></p>
<p>1.  Each morning, be sure to pack your duffel with marching clothes, tennis shoes and a FULL jug of iced water.  Many of you need to check the lost and found in RH1 for lost jugs  <img src='http://www.georgetowneagleband.org/gb/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>2.  Monday’s after school rehearsal :</p>
<ul>
<li> 5:00pm – begin dressing out for after school rehearsal</li>
<li> 5:10pm – move out to stadium</li>
<li> 5:30pm – rehearsal begins in stadium</li>
<li> 8:00pm &#8211; dismissal</li>
<li> Keva Juice is taking orders during band classes for smoothies.</li>
<li>These smoothies will be delivered after school on Monday between 4-4:30pm.<br />
Each smoothie is $4.00.  If you are interested, bring $4.00 with you to school and order during band class.</li>
</ul>
<p>3.  Tuesday and Thursday after school rehearsals begin at 4:30pm on the practice lot</p>
<ul>
<li> Dismissal will be 7:00pm</li>
</ul>
<p>4.  Woodwinds – Bring both your marching and concert instruments on Tuesday (for class)</p>
<ul>
<li> Brass – Bring both your marching and concert instruments on Thursday (for class)</li>
</ul>
<p>5.  Make sure all your stands tunes are in your flip folder!  We are using flip folders out on the practice lot after school this week… be prepared!  We also advise writing your name clearly with a paint pen on your flip folder.  After the Georgette tune at each game, we will be collecting the flip folders in bins on the field as we head towards set 1 of the halftime show;  thus necessitating your name being written on your flip folder.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Uniform Checkout night is <strong>mandatory for all Band and Guard students</strong>.   One parent needs to accompany the student for this evening as shown in  the dates below in order to meet with Mr. Schayot and pay the August  dues.<strong> Bring your checkbook </strong>as deposits, fees and merchandise will be paid on separate checks at separate checkout tables. <strong>NOTE</strong>:  If you elect to pay your fees <strong>ONLINE </strong>ahead of time (<a href="http://www.georgetowneagleband.org/gb/charms-web-site/paying-fees-on-charms-with-paypal/">instructions here</a>), you will not have to wait in line at checkout. Be sure to print confirmation of your purchases and bring with you!</p>

<p>All parents of band and colorguard students are expected to  volunteer a minimum of 5 hours this year per family.  Many of you will  generously volunteer many more than the minimum.  Every parent is asked  to please complete the background check as it is GISD policy that all  volunteers be cleared before the start of their scheduled event and  after Aug.1st of each school year.</td>

<p>Print and complete the Fee Statement Form for 2010-2011. Note: The forms are different for Colorguard and Band.<br />
Fees have gone up this year for band and guard.  Transportation, meal  and uniform costs are all more expensive than in the past.  Please be  mindful that in our current economic situation, a few band and  colorguard parents have lost their jobs.  Please consider over the  weekend if you or someone close to you would be willing to sponsor a  student who the staff deem are in need of &#8220;Family Hardship Assistance&#8221;.   Full Fair Share Fee donations are accepted as well as any amount less  that you feel comfortable giving.  Even small donations from each family  able, multiplied out across the entire band, will go a long way towards  assisting our families in need.  Thanks for your thoughtful  consideration of this opportunity!</p>

<li>You can pre-pay for nearly your entire year in band using the &#8220;fee statement&#8221; form.  <strong>Checks and cash only</strong> will be accepted on site.
