Paying with PayPal

1.  Follow all the information included on the Charms Login Information handout to login to your student’s account.

Login to Charms. You should now be looking at the Student Screen.

2.  Click on the green button  $ (finances)

3.  This screen allows you to pay trip payments, fair share fee payments simply by clicking the blue button indicating the item for which you are making the payment. You will make separate transactions for Fair Share and Merchandise.

For Fair Share Fee:

Click the check box next to the fee amount to pay then the “Pay Fees” blue button to proceed to the next step.

For Fees with a Variable Amount (Merchandise, Donations):

Select the “Make Miscellaneous Payment” button and enter the amount and a brief description in the next screen.

4.  You are now looking at the Making a Payment screen.  If you are a PayPal member, click the checkbox and you can click the Pay button to proceed to PaylPal.  If you are not a PayPal member yet, don’t click it and enter your information as you would like your account to be set up.  Click pay.

If you are paying Fair Share or another fee which is loaded into the system the amount will be entered automatically.

If you are paying a miscellaneous fee (such as Merchandise or Donation for Hardship), you will manually enter the amount along with a brief description.

5.  PayPal takes it from here!  You will be asked to enter your email (this is your login) and a password that you create.  You’ll enter your preferred credit card and you are up and running!

6.  Be advised that Pay Pal will automatically add a 3% “Priority Shipping” charge.  This is not an error.  This is the fee that Pay Pal adds to each transaction.  This way, only the families using the PayPal option will be the ones paying for the service.

7.  Be sure that once your payment is made, click the blue

“Return to Georgetown Performance Arts Alliance Inc. Band Account”

to record your payment in the Charms system! You should see the PayPal Payment Successful screen.

Print this form when asked to bring a confirmation.
