• Parent pick-up will be at Gattiland Round Rock at 7:00am sharp – students will not be allowed to drive themselves home.  PLEASE be on time to pick up your child as the volunteer chaperones have been up all night!

Saturday 12/5 – All Region

• The remaining instruments that did not audition Friday will compete Saturday…along with the students selected to move on in competition from Friday night.
• * Parents may drive their student to the audition, or the student may ride the bus.
• * Roll check on Saturday at GHS is at 1:00pm in RH1 for any students wishing to ride the bus to the Saturday auditions at Vista Ridge… the bus will be leaving soon after, so be prompt at 1:00pm for roll.
• * Students NOT riding the bus need to be checked into their room at Vista Ridge HS no later than 2:00pm. (signs are posted on-site where to go)
• * Students participating in Saturday competition are exempt from the parade.
• * Parents are encouraged to pick their student up from the Vista Ridge HS audition afterwards as the bus will not head back to GHS until approximately 7:00pm.

12/5- Saturday – Christmas Stroll Parade

• Percussion and Sousaphones meet at GHS at 10:30am to move equipment to square!
• 11:00am – Meet at southeast corner of parking lot at 10th & Church
• No cars/trucks are allowed inside the barricades this year. We will need to park somewhere nearby 10th and Church and WALK our instruments into the parking lot where we warm up. DO NOT MOVE BARRICADES!
• ALL GHS BAND AND COLORGUARD STUDENTS ARE GRADED ON THIS PERFORMANCE. BE ON TIME AND PREPARED WITH NECESSARY ITEMS LISTED BELOW NO LATER THAN 11:00AM !
• Dress: Band polo, jeans, tennis shoes and holiday-themed head-wear (santa hats, reindeer antlers, lit-up heads, etc).
• Jackets are appropriate if weather is cold.
• Bring: Flip Folder, decorated instrument and festive head-wear
• We will hand out your parade music on-site at 10th and Church.
• 12:00pm – parade begins
• 12:30pm – projected dismissal from 10th & Church (we march in a circle)
• ***Students are encouraged to decorate their instruments (as long as it does not impede the proper playing)***
• ** Students making it on to Phase Two Auditions of All-Region Band will be excused **

Saturday 12/12 – Holiday on Parade at Sun City

• INFO: MANDATORY FUNDRAISER FOR ALL BAND and COLORGUARD STUDENTS – We will be wearing full marching uniform… you need to bring:
  • Black Marching Shoes & Black Socks
  • Blue Band Shorts OR warm long-john type clothing for underneath the uniform if it is COLD.
  • Holiday-themed headwear. Santa hats, reindeer antlers, lights on your head, etc.
  • You may decorate your horn as long as it plays properly.
• We will go caroling through Sun City and will be dismissed from GHS
• Tentative Schedule
  • 9:00am – warm-up in RH1
  • 10:30am – perform in “teams” – each “team” is on a bus and plays holiday-themed carols
  • throughout Sun City door to door- this is a fundraiser for our program.
  • 12:00pm – bring your sack lunch, we perform through lunch (kids eat on bus between gigs)

  • Sack breakfast packed for the charter bus ride.
• Our first meal together as a band will be lunch. We will provide breakfast bars for the students on the bus, but a good breakfast at home or in a sack for the bus ride is suggested!
• Student Drivers: Have your parents drive you to school today as your car can not be parked over 24 hours on the GHS campus. (we are hosting the UIL Area Marching Contest at our school for small schools).

  • 7:20am – trailer closes up and drives around to pit unloading parking area — pit head over to Alamodome.
  • 7:30am – official pit unload time in front of Alamodome
  • 7:50am – official warm-up time
  • 9:00am – PERFORM!
  • 9:15am – picture in Alamodome
  • 9:30am – bathroom break / section pictures in lobby
  • 9:45am – load trailer
  • 10:00am – get wallet and cell phone off of the buses before we head into Alamodome
  • 10:15am – file back into Alamodome as a group to watch Coppell and Marcus HS
  • 11:15am – walk over to RiverCenter Mall to eat lunch and relax.

• LUNCH EXPECTATIONS:
  • Each student will check out $7.00 (to spend for lunch) from their chaperone at the designated area in the mall.
  • Each student must be in the designated uniform AT ALL TIMES in the mall. This is for your safety and recognition by chaperones. Blue Shorts, Show Shirt.
  • Each student must stay on the Mall Property
  • Each student must have a cell phone turned on and with them at all times in the mall.
  • There is not enough time to watch a movie here… do not purchase movie tickets.
• 1:15pm – Take roll in designated area at the Mall… walk back over to Alamodome.
• 2:00pm – Enter Alamodome
  • We will watch The Woodlands, Cedar Park, Keller, Round Rock, Spring and LD Bell
• 4:00pm – Awards
• 5:00pm – DINNER — catered sandwiches from “EARL OF SANDWICH”
• ????? – Times for remainder of evening TBA. We will have students call home on cell phone once we reach Round Rock.

• ALL ARRIVE AT GHS AT 7:45am to prepare for the pep rally! We will warm-up in RH1 at 7:50am and then move to the gym at 8:00am. Battery parade through hallway at 8:05am.

• PEP RALLY TODAY!!! We will bus the 9th graders back to the NGC for your 1st class of the day.

  • 3:30pm – Rehearsal on band practice field
  • 4:55pm – Drivers please go move cars.
  • 5:00pm – Finish rehearsal.

  • 5:35pm – Clear Commons (trumpets clear)
  • 5:35pm – All MS bands are meeting in GHS RH1 to organize (we will have the HS students in RH2 and Yellow)

  • 6:00pm – form parade block in west student lot WITH MS BANDS!
  • 6:10pm – PARADE! (leave practice field gate unlocked once we pass through – used as parking for game) -Route is counter-clockwise around PAC, right at tennis courts, across practice field, down asphalt pathway, left in front of stadium, right at the home side parking lot, into stadium at large double gate on home entrance, down the decline into the north endzone,counterclockwise down the sideline, up into the stands on the scoreboard side.)

• Schedule
  • 10:00am – rehearsal begins (eat a good breakfast before you arrive) (arrive already dressed in show shirt & blue shorts etc)
  • 11:00am – end rehearsal
  • 11:05am – winds put instruments on trailer
  • 11:10am – percussion load trailer
  • 11:40pm – load buses
  • 12:00pm – depart — eat your sack lunch on the way!
  • 1:00pm – arrive and unload — winds dress into uniform first then unload. Percussion unload and then get dressed. (ALL grab a water bottle at the trailer)
  • 2:20pm – warm-up- (winds get water at warm-up) (chaperones need trash bags for bottles)
  • 3:00pm – PERFORM
  • 3:15pm – head back to buses for Gatorade. Load instruments on trailer and move pit equip against trailer. Fold uniform neatly over your seat in bus.
  • 3:45pm – Head as a group to visitor stands to sit in a block to watch bands and receive results on finals.
  • 6:00pm – dinner
  • *Finals run from 7:00pm – 10:00pm
  • 10:20pm – finals awards ceremony
  • 10:50pm – load buses
  • 11:00pm – depart
  • 12:15am -  approximate dismissal from band hall
