What a great time to be an Eagle!!! I am so very proud of everyone but I would like to highlight the achievements of two groups this week.
The GHS Jazz Ensemble traveled to Kingsville, TX this weekend for the Texas A&M Kingsville Jazz Festival. The group earned 2nd place overall and four members were chosen for the All-Star Big Band. These members were Roger Castillo, Jr.(trumpet), Joe Horkey(trombone), Alex Lessard(Alto Sax) and Matt Estlack(Bass). Congrats Jazz Ensemble!
Also, the Winterguard traveled to Dripping Springs, TX for Junior Varsity State competition. The JV team earned the Silver medal at state with a second place finish. This is doubly impressive because the group was promoted to a higher class and competing with other schools’ Varsity groups!! Congrats JV! Also the Varsity guard broke the 80 barrier with their score of 80.1 Best of luck at state this weekend Varsity!
