Percussion Ensemble Concert and Solo & Ensemble
Congrats to the Color Guard on another successful weekend of competition! The JV guard placed 3rd in their class and the Varsity placed 5th in their class. Way to go ladies! Congratulations to you and your wonderful directors.
Here are some reminders for the week:
- Students will begin rehearsals with their accompanists this week for solo & ensemble. The accompanist fees are $40 for a class 1 and $30 for a class 2. Please make your payments out to your accompanist(not GHS Band)
- Wind Symphony: We will have our first Symphony Orchestra rehearsal tomorrow 4-5:30 in Yellow. Make sure you have your parts for Quest for the Grail and Celebration Overture. If you have not received your folder, please see Mrs. Powers at some point tomorrow. Also, we will meet at 6:45 in Band Hall 2 to warm up. Please enter BH2 through the outside entrance and not through BH1(Their will be a meeting going on at that time). The dress is Concert Black.
- Please join us for the Band Booster meeting tomorrow night at 6:30. At the conclusion of the meeting the Wind Symphony will be giving a special February Concert in BH1. The students have been working extremely hard and would definitely appreciate a great audience.
-Tuesday night we will be hosting the Bach Factory Tour in BH1. They will be showcasing their entire line of brass instruments so brass players bring your mouthpeice and come check out all of their amazing products!
- Due to the Bach factory tour the Wind Symphony rehearsal on Tuesday afternoon will be cancelled.
- The TMEA annual conference is being held in San Antonio this Wednesday-Saturday so Mrs. Stevenson and myself will be out on Thursday and Friday. Please contact Mr. Leach with any questions.

Great job on Saturday with Holiday on Parade!! All of the Sun City residents were very complimentary and some said that they had been looking forward to it since last year. Also, it was great to see you guys together with members of the East View Band. Two schools, one community!!
As we get closer to the Holidays we will be closing out the semester so please make sure you are keeping up with announcements.

The band did an outstanding job on Saturday at the Christmas Stroll Parade! It was great to see all of the GISD bands represented and performing together. What a great experience for everyone!
Also, this weekend the band competed at the All Region Band Auditions. Several students placed well and some advanced!!
