This week we have several events going on. We will have leadership workshops and auditions in the mornings. We also have our informational meeting for next year on Monday Night. Tuesday will be our Spring Concert and we will have our Annual Jazz Dinner and Dance Extravaganza on Saturday night.

Here is the schedule for the week:

Monday (5/13): Full Band After School Rehearsal/2013-14 Info Meeting

  • 7:30AM — Leadership Workshop
  • ***Leadership candidates should be dressed out for marching rehearsal with white t-shirt, athletic shorts and shoes. Make sure you also have a pencil and the visual handbook in the leadership packet***
  • 4:15 — Full Band Rehearsal in the PAC
  • 5:30 — Rehearsal ends
  • 6:00 — 2013-14 Band Info Meeting
  • 7:00 — Meeting ends

Tuesday (5/14): Spring Concert

  • 7:30AM — Leadership Workshop
  • 4:00PM — Make Up Letter Jacket Fittings
  • 6:30 — Full Band report to PAC dressed in “Concert Black”
  • 7:00 — Concert begins
  • 8:30 — Concert ends

 

Wednesday (5/15)

  • 7:30AM — Leadership Workshop

Thursday (5/16)

  • 7:30AM — Leadership Workshop

Friday (5/26):Festival of Bands

  • 7:30AM — Leadership Auditions(All Wind Ensemble & Symphonic Band Candidates)
  • 7:30AM — Wind Symphony report to PAC stage dressed in Concert Black for Festival of Bands Recording Session
  • 9:00 — Recording Session Ends
  • 4:15 — Leadership Auditions (Wind Symphony candidates)

Saturday (5/27):Jazz Dinner & Dance Extravaganza

  • 7:00PM — Extravaganza starts at Berry Creek Country Club

  • 10:00 — Extravaganza ends

Dinner Fundraiser at Dickey’s BBQ on University Blvd tonight from 5-9PM
Band Booster meeting tonight at Dickey’s BBQ at 7PM
Letter Jacket fitting will be on Tuesday after school in BH2(Bring your paperwork and payment)
Band Banquet is this Friday from 7PM-12AM at the GHS Cafeteria(Ticket Order forms are due on Tuesday, May 7)

We are getting close to the end of the year and what better way to celebrate than to come together for a banquet and awards ceremony! We will be having our annual band banquet on Friday, May 10th from 7-12 in the GHS Cafeteria. I’ve attached an invitation and we’ve also passed them out in class. Please join us for a great night celebrating a great year!
