• 5:00pm – Begin dressing out for after-school rehearsal
• 5:10pm – Move out to stadium for rehearsal
• 5:30pm – Stadium Rehearsal
• 8:00pm – Dismissal

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

• Woodwinds – Bring both your concert and marching instruments today
• 4:00pm – Begin dressing out for after-school rehearsal
• 4:15pm – Move out to practice lot for rehearsal
• 4:30pm – Rehearsal
• 7:00pm – Dismissal

• No marching practice after school today

Thursday, August 26, 2010

• Brass – Bring both your concert and marching instruments today

Away Game v Harker Heights at the Alamodome in San Antonio

Arrive at GISD Stadium Wearing:

• Black socks – PROVIDED BY STUDENT –must be calf-length.  No ankle length allowed!
• Black marching shoes
• Blue Shorts
• Show Shirt

Also bring to stadium

• Flip folder ON A LANYARD
• LARGE jug of water

Schedule

• 11:15 AM – (COLORGUARD ONLY) – All guard needs to have all their packed bags and be at the Band Hall at 11:15am for loading and hair and makeup
• 12:30pm – Arrive at GISD stadium for stretch, warm-up and your show run-through.
  Be sure you have EVERYTHING WITH YOU!
  • *Bring instrument in case
  • *Uniform IN garment bag – with black gloves and black baldrics
  • *Shako box
  • *Jug of water
• 12:45pm- stretch begins
• 1:45pm- end run through
• 1:50pm- Popsicles provided by section parents?
• 1:55pm- winds put instruments on trailer
• 2:00pm- percussion & guard load trailer
• 2:05pm-  Load buses
• 2:45pm – Depart GISD Stadium
• 5:15pm – Arrive at Alamodome
• 5:30pm – dinner at buses
• 6:00pm – get into uniform
• 6:15pm- unload instruments
• 6:25pm – load stands
• 6:45pm – winds warm-up in stands
• 6:55pm – water break
• 7:00pm – No playing until our school song is announced.
• 7:17pm-  visitor school song
• 7:19pm-  home school song
• 7:21pm-  metal shop
• 7:23pm – fight song for team entrance
• 7:30pm-  kickoff
• 8:30pm – halftime
• 10:25pm – Meeting in stands
• 10:15pm – Released by sections from stands to load trailer
• 11:00pm – Depart Alamodome
• 1:15am- Arrival at GHS
  PARENTS… please pick-up in west lot outside band hall doors facing Austin Ave… not in circle drive as that is where our 18-wheeler needs to unload! Students dismissed to trailer BY BUS!  Wait until your bus is called!  Unload your instrument first, then go put away your uniform!
• 1:30am-  approximate dismissal
  (parents… the buses may arrive earlier or later than expected.  Please be patient.  The best way to estimate our arrival is send your student with a cell phone and have them call you when they hit Round Rock.  We should dismiss 45 minutes after hitting Round Rock.  All students are expected to stay until dismissal after the trailer is unloaded- everybody helps!)
