All Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble & Honor Band students in grades 9-11 will be performing as the Graduation Band.  Warm-up and rehearsal on Friday May 28th begins at 4:00pm in RH1.
Graduation Band
Friday, May 28
GISD Athletic Complex
  • 4:00pm — Warm-up in GHS RH1 — arrive dressed in ALL BLACK!
  • 4:45pm — Dinner in commons
  • 5:30pm — Move to Stadium
  • 5:50pm — Sound Check until 6:30pm (working mic placement — will be amplified over stadium speakers)
  • 6:30pm — Water break — stay IN Stadium
  • 6:50pm — in seats waiting for pomp and circumstance to begin.
Dress is ALL BLACK.  Wear what you wore at the Winter Concert in December.  After rehearsal, the students will be fed in the A/C before heading over to the new stadium for GHS Graduation.  We will provide their food in the band hall and will also provide 2 waters on the field during graduation.  Graduation begins at 7:30pm.  There will be an approximate dismissal from the band hall at 9:45pm.  All band students grades 9-11 are expected to perform in this event – please reply to Mr. Schayot with questions at schayotj@georgetownisd.org
 

We need volunteers to bring a lasagna dinner and help serve the students who will be performing at the GHS Graduation. Select the link below to go on to volunteer spot and sign up to bring a food item or to help serve.

GHS Bands Spring Concert
Thursday, May 13, 2010
6:30 PM – GHS PAC

All band students wear concert uniforms.  (boys be sure to clean your white shirt and locate the tie and cummerbund) (girls be sure to locate your dress clip and black tights)

All band students (except Wind Symphony) need to bring their garment bag and a change of clothes for after the concert as we will be turning in concert uniforms in the Music Building at the conclusion of the concert.

Call times:
*Wind Symphony – Schayot – 5:30pm – on PAC Stage
*Honor Band / Trip Band – Frost – 6:15pm – in RH1
*Wind Ensemble / Mass Band – Marino – 6:15pm – in assigned seating in audience in PAC (you will listen to the first tune by the Wind Symphony and then head to YELLOW for warm-up)

Jazz Band Information:
*Jazz Band boys – Be sure to bring your black shirt and black jazz tie to change into after your concert band performance.  You will also wear your tux jacket during the jazz performance.
*NGC Jazz Students – you will be in the audience after your concert band performance.  Please head backstage after the Wind Ensemble’s first tune.
*GHS Jazz Students – you will be in the audience after your concert band performance.  Please head backstage at the conclusion of the Wind Ensemble’s entire performance.
