All-Region Band Auditions
*only students who have paid their entry fees are registered to attend*
Friday 12/4
- Here are TYPICALLY the instruments auditioning on Friday Dec.4th (not all students go on Friday): we will know for sure by Wednesday.
- Flute
- Clarinet
- Trumpet
- Horn
- Trombone
- Percussion
- ** These instruments ONLY will be taking roll at 4:00pm in the GHS Band Hall One to load the bus for Vista Ridge HS. Parents are encouraged to pick-up their student from Vista Ridge HS Friday night as the bus will not head back to GHS until approximately 10:30pm.
- ** Students will to bring a MINIMUM of $6.00 for food as they will be eating at Vista Ridge**
- Hotdog, Chips and Drink: $4.00
- Chick-Fil-A, Chips and Drink: $6.00
- Pizza Slice, Chips and Drink: $5.00
- ** Ninth graders competing Friday evening will be bussed to GHS from the NGC in time for roll check in the GHS Band Hall.
Saturday 12/5 – All Region
- The remaining instruments that did not audition Friday will compete Saturday…along with the students selected to move on in competition from Friday night.
- * Parents may drive their student to the audition, or the student may ride the bus.
- * Roll check on Saturday at GHS is at 1:00pm in RH1 for any students wishing to ride the bus to the Saturday auditions at Vista Ridge… the bus will be leaving soon after, so be prompt at 1:00pm for roll.
- * Students NOT riding the bus need to be checked into their room at Vista Ridge HS no later than 2:00pm. (signs are posted on-site where to go)
- * Students participating in Saturday competition are exempt from the parade.
- * Parents are encouraged to pick their student up from the Vista Ridge HS audition afterwards as the bus will not head back to GHS until approximately 7:00pm.

12/5- Saturday – Christmas Stroll Parade
- Percussion and Sousaphones meet at GHS at 10:30am to move equipment to square!
- 11:00am – Meet at southeast corner of parking lot at 10th & Church
- No cars/trucks are allowed inside the barricades this year. We will need to park somewhere nearby 10th and Church and WALK our instruments into the parking lot where we warm up. DO NOT MOVE BARRICADES!
- ALL GHS BAND AND COLORGUARD STUDENTS ARE GRADED ON THIS PERFORMANCE. BE ON TIME AND PREPARED WITH NECESSARY ITEMS LISTED BELOW NO LATER THAN 11:00AM !
- Dress: Band polo, jeans, tennis shoes and holiday-themed head-wear (santa hats, reindeer antlers, lit-up heads, etc).
- Jackets are appropriate if weather is cold.
- Bring: Flip Folder, decorated instrument and festive head-wear
- We will hand out your parade music on-site at 10th and Church.
- 12:00pm – parade begins
- 12:30pm – projected dismissal from 10th & Church (we march in a circle)
- ***Students are encouraged to decorate their instruments (as long as it does not impede the proper playing)***
- ** Students making it on to Phase Two Auditions of All-Region Band will be excused **
- * Students already signed up to take the SAT this date will be excused
Saturday 12/12 – Holiday on Parade at Sun City
- INFO: MANDATORY FUNDRAISER FOR ALL BAND and COLORGUARD STUDENTS – We will be wearing full marching uniform… you need to bring:
- Black Marching Shoes & Black Socks
- Blue Band Shorts OR warm long-john type clothing for underneath the uniform if it is COLD.
- Holiday-themed headwear. Santa hats, reindeer antlers, lights on your head, etc.
- You may decorate your horn as long as it plays properly.
- We will go caroling through Sun City and will be dismissed from GHS
- Tentative Schedule
- 9:00am – warm-up in RH1
- 10:30am – perform in “teams” – each “team” is on a bus and plays holiday-themed carols
- throughout Sun City door to door- this is a fundraiser for our program.
- 12:00pm – bring your sack lunch, we perform through lunch (kids eat on bus between gigs)
- 4:30pm – last performance of the day
- 5:00pm – unload buses
- 5:30pm – depart band hall
