- DUE DATE for entry fee of $12.00 payable to GPAA BAND for All-Region Band Auditions
- All students who have been working up the All-Region Etudes please have your money turned in this Wednesday to the lock box in the band hall. Write your name and “Region Band” in the memo line of the check. (this is mandatory for students in Wind Symphony and highly encouraged for students aspiring to joining Wind Symphony next Fall).
- The auditions will occur on December 4th and 5th (some students compete Friday night and some compete Saturday afternoon) at Vista Ridge HS.
PEP RALLY Friday!
- 11/20 – 7:45am – roll check in RH1 for pep rally
- Attire – black triangle T and jeans
- Ninth graders will be expected to attend and will be bussed back to the NGC for 5th period
- ** The Lady Eagle Volleyball Team is going to STATE! We will be sending them off in style with a pep rally! This will be a graded performance for all band students**
Spring Trip to South Padre !
- DUE DATE Friday, 11/20
- $100.00 trip payment #2 to GPAA BAND.
- We can still fit in more students for the spring trip to South Padre. May 6th – May 8th is the dates of the trip. Package includes a Luau on Friday night, hotel stay, Schlitterbahn beach and performance in a brand new performance hall. If you would like to add in to the trip, your trip payment to catch up would be $250.00 payable to GPAA BAND. Email Mr. Schayot for more details at schayotj@georgetownisd.org
Saturday 12/5- Christmas Stroll Parade
- Percussion and Sousaphones meet at GHS at 10:30am to move equipment to square!
- 11:00am – Meet at southeast corner of parking lot at 10th & Church
- ALL GHS BAND AND COLORGUARD STUDENTS ARE GRADED ON THIS PERFORMANCE. BE ON TIME AND PREPARED WITH NECESSARY ITEMS LISTED BELOW NO LATER THAN 11:00AM !
- Dress: Band polo, jeans, tennis shoes and holiday-themed head-wear (santa hats, reindeer antlers, lit-up heads, etc).
Jackets are appropriate if weather is cold. - Bring: Flip Folder, decorated instrument and festive head-wear
- We will hand out your parade music on-site at 10th and Church.
- 12:00pm – parade begins
- 12:30pm – projected dismissal from 10th & Church (we march in a circle)
- ***Students are encouraged to decorate their instruments (as long as it does not impede the proper playing)***
- ** Students making it on to Phase Two Auditions of All-Region Band will be excused **
- * Students already signed up to take the SAT this date will be excused
Saturday 12/12 – Holiday on Parade at Sun City
- INFO: MANDATORY FUNDRAISER FOR ALL BAND and COLORGUARD STUDENTS – We will be wearing full marching uniform… you need to bring:
- Black Marching Shoes & Black Socks
- Blue Band Shorts OR warm long-john type clothing for underneath the uniform if it is COLD.
- Holiday-themed headwear. Santa hats, reindeer antlers, lights on your head, etc.
- You may decorate your horn as long as it plays properly.
- We will go caroling through Sun City and will be dismissed from GHS
- Tentative Schedule
- 9:00am – warm-up in RH1
- 10:30am – perform in “teams” – each “team” is on a bus and plays holiday-themed carols
- throughout Sun City door to door- this is a fundraiser for our program.
- 12:00pm – bring your sack lunch, we perform through lunch (kids eat on bus between gigs)
- 4:30pm – last performance of the day
- 5:00pm – unload buses
- 5:30pm – depart band hall
