- NINTH GRADERS… We are ending the day AT THE NGC! Bring your concert horns to school today to the NGC and you will have band class today in the NGC BAND HALL.

Friday, October 23, 2009 – HOME GAME V. Leander

- Water Jug for Friday rehearsal
- ALL ARRIVE AT GHS AT 7:45am to prepare for the pep rally! We will warm-up in RH1 at 7:50am and then move to the gym at 8:00am. Battery parade through hallway at 8:05am.
- ALL WEAR BLACK TRIANGLE T.
- PEP RALLY TODAY!!! We will bus the 9th graders back to the NGC for your 1st class of the day.
- Schedule
- 4:00pm – Rehearsal on band practice field in TRIANGLE T SHIRT, Blue Shorts, Black Socks and Black Marching Shoes
- 4:55pm – Driver move cars.
- 5:00pm – Finish rehearsal.
- 5:05pm – Dinner in commons.
- 5:35pm – Clear Commons
- 5:40pm – Put on uniform.
- 6:00pm – form parade block
- 6:10pm – PARADE!
- 6:20pm – load stands
- 6:35pm – winds warm-up in stands
- 6:55pm – water break
- 7:00pm – No playing until our school song is announced.
- 7:17pm – visitor school song
- 7:19pm – home school song
- 7:21pm – metal shop
- 7:23pm – fight song for team entrance
- 7:28pm – National Anthem by choir
- 7:30pm – kickoff
- 8:40pm – halftime
- 10:15pm – dismissal to band hall to hang uniforms IN GARMENT BAGS on the rack
- 10:30pm – load trailer
- 10:45pm – hang your garment bag on your rack before you go home… you will report here at
- 4:35am in the morning to load your shako and garment bag on the charter bus for a
- 4:40am roll.
- GO STRAIGHT HOME AND SLEEP! Big day tomorrow!
Saturday, October 24, 2009 -San Antonio BOA SuperRegional at Alamodome
- 4:40am — ROLL CHECK ON CHARTER BUSES — Be on time!
- Arrive wearing:
- Show Shirt
- Blue Band shorts
- Black marching socks
- Black marching shoes
- Arrive with these items in a duffel:
- Cell Phone (Saturday- must be with the student and turned on when not in the Alamodome)
- DVDs for the bus ride (PG-13 or lower)
- Blanket for the bus ride
- $$ for concessions / souvenirs in San Antonio (we will be at the mall today)
- Sack breakfast packed for the charter bus ride.
- Our first meal together as a band will be lunch. We will provide breakfast bars for the students on the bus, but a good breakfast at home or in a sack for the bus ride is suggested!
- Student Drivers: Have your parents drive you to school today as your car can not be parked over 24 hours on the GHS campus. (we are hosting the UIL Area Marching Contest at our school for small schools).
- Schedule
- 4:40am – ROLL CHECK ON CHARTER BUSES — Be on time! Put garment bag and shako box underneath bus
- 5:00am – Depart GHS (bring DVDs for the bus ride — PG-13 or lower)
- 7:00am – ARRIVAL – winds and battery unload instruments IMMEDIATELY! Pit dress into uniform.
- 7:10am – winds and battery, dress into uniform once you have your instrument completely put together and lined up in sections on the lot.
- 7:15am – all students put your plume on your shako NOW as the plume box will be loaded
- back onto trailer until after the performance.
- 7:20am – trailer closes up and drives around to pit unloading parking area — pit head over to Alamodome.
- 7:30am – official pit unload time in front of Alamodome
- 7:50am – official warm-up time
- 9:00am – PERFORM!
- 9:15am – picture in Alamodome
- 9:30am – bathroom break / section pictures in lobby
- 9:45am – load trailer
- 10:00am – get wallet and cell phone off of the buses before we head into Alamodome
- 10:15am – file back into Alamodome as a group to watch Coppell and Marcus HS
- 11:15am – walk over to RiverCenter Mall to eat lunch and relax.
- LUNCH EXPECTATIONS:
- Each student will check out $7.00 (to spend for lunch) from their chaperone at the designated area in the mall.
- Each student must be in the designated uniform AT ALL TIMES in the mall. This is for your safety and recognition by chaperones. Blue Shorts, Show Shirt.
- Each student must stay on the Mall Property
- Each student must have a cell phone turned on and with them at all times in the mall.
- There is not enough time to watch a movie here… do not purchase movie tickets.
- 1:15pm – Take roll in designated area at the Mall… walk back over to Alamodome.
- 2:00pm – Enter Alamodome
- We will watch The Woodlands, Cedar Park, Keller, Round Rock, Spring and LD Bell
- 4:00pm – Awards
- 5:00pm – DINNER — catered sandwiches from “EARL OF SANDWICH”
- ????? – Times for remainder of evening TBA. We will have students call home on cell phone once we reach Round Rock.
