We are proud to announce that the GHS Drumline received 1st place today at the Dripping Springs Drumline Contest in conference 5A! They were also awarded Outstanding Front Ensemble for the entire contest! Other competing drumlines included Round Rock HS, Pflugerville HS, Anderson HS & O’ Conner HS.

Congratulations to our OUTSTANDING drumline on a job well done today! Recognition goes out to the focused leadership of Drum Captain Austin White and Pit Section Leader David Williams as well as the dedicated teaching of Mr. Leach and Mr. Otto!

Way to go drumline, you make us very proud!

Thanks to the dedicated work of a sea of parent and student volunteers, I am pleased to announce that today’s GISD BANDS Garage Sale raised $3,000.00 for the kids in the GISD Bands!

Special thanks go out to the countless hours of coordination put in by our parent volunteer in charge of organizing the Fall Garage Sale, Valerie Jamie. This was a huge success thanks to your vision!

Special thanks also go out to Tammy Mezayek, Bruce Oliver, Ray Brown and their children who donated time driving trailers picking up items and equipment!

We are so fortunate to have such dedicated families to this band program! Thanks again to EVERYONE involved who donated and worked! The kids will reap the benefits of our labors, thanks for all you do for the GISD BANDS!
