Itinerary 9/14 to 9/19
** Important notes:
- There is an entry fee of $3.00 admission each person to Halftime Showcase this Friday for all attendees!
- Be sure to have khaki shorts purchased for your student for next week’s Homecoming Parade! Wednesday, Sept.23 is our annual HOMECOMING PARADE and Pep Rally in which the GHS Marching Band is the featured group leading off the ceremony. Uniform for the evening is Khaki Shorts, belt, tennis shoes and Blue Polo (tucked in). Ladies be sure to select shorts that are an appropriate length for a school-sponsored activity.
- This Saturday’s garage sale will be advertised in the Williamson County Sun classifieds as well as on Craig’s List… we are looking for this to be a BIG DAY!
- We need LOTS of student and parent volunteers at THIS Saturday’s garage sale.

- We have many shifts available… this is going to be a HUGE fundraiser for our band program. Please do consider logging on and seeing if you can take a 3 hour shift!
- The Halftime Showcase coordinates well with preparations for Saturday’s Garage Sale! Come early to the Halftime Showcase to drop off your wonderful donations to the GHS Band Hall before heading over to the stadium on Friday early evening!
- We also need lots of PLASTIC GROCERY SACKS donated on Friday night for our customers to use to shop with on Saturday morning.

Monday, September 14, 2009
- Learn “We Will Rock You” in band classes. We play this Friday night with the MS Bands.
- 4:00pm-6:15pm – Full Band Rehearsal
- 6:30pm – Parent pick-up in west lot outside band hall doors facing Austin Ave… not in circle drive!
Tuesday, September 15, 2009
- 4:00pm to 6:45pm STADIUM rehearsal. Tuesday parent pickup is 7:00pm.
- Brass bring concert horn (except freshmen)
Wednesday, September 16, 2009
- Voting for homecoming king and queen nominees from band during band classes. Have your pencils!
- No after school rehearsal.
- All bring concert horn.
- NINTH GRADERS… We are ending the day AT THE NGC! Bring your concert horns to school today to the NGC and you will have band class today in the NGC BAND HALL. If you need to ride the bus home, you will ride the same bus that you caught at GHS last week.
Thursday, September 17, 2009
- We will be clearing Band Hall One today during band classes to prepare for the Garage Sale! Each class will have a short amount of work to be done to prepare and then will rehearse on marching and concert instruments as usual. Prepare your music as required for rehearsal today!

Friday, September 18th – Halftime Showcase featuring the Texas Tech Goin’ Band from Raiderland!
- $3.00 entry fee for all attendees.
- Please drop off your Garage Sale items anytime Friday to GHS Music Building Band Hall 1.
- Bring to school in a duffel:
- Black socks – PROVIDED BY STUDENT –must be calf-length. No ankle length allowed!
- Black marching shoes
- Blue Shorts
- Black Triangle T
- Show Shirt
- Flip folder ON A LANYARD
- 3:45pm – Change into show triangle T, blue shorts, black socks and black marching shoes
- 4:00pm – Rehearsal
- 4:45pm – Finish rehearsal. Head straight to stadium to sit in stands and eat dinner. Dinner served from stadium by chaperones under the home side stands. We will eat dinner together in the stands and watch the Texas Tech Band rehearsal while we eat!
- 5:25pm – Head to GHS to put on uniform and build parade block in west parking lot
- 6:05pm – Parade!
- 6:15pm – Parade enters field via home gate, down north end zone decline, and straight to Georgette arcs behind back hash.
- 6:20pm – S P R E A D concert arcs to allow for Middle School students in between you.
- 6:25pm – MS students join HS band for warm-up
- 6:30pm – Warm-up (pit also warms up separately on front sideline)
- 7:00pm – Performance begins. GHS band performs throughout and will stay on field throughout until after our marching show. Once the marching show is completed, we clear the field quickly and head back up the north end zone incline and into the front reserved section of the stands to watch the Goin’ Band!
- 8:45pm — Goin’ Band approximate end time, head back to band hall to hang uniforms!
- 9:15pm — Prepare for Garage Sale. Everyone helps!
- 9:30pm — Approximate dismissal from Band Hall

Saturday, September 19, 2009 – 7am-2pm
Georgetown High School Music Building
- Needed. Please bring to band hall Friday:
- plastic grocery sacks as you can on Friday to the band hall for people to shop with.
- your donations (large or small, old or new, junky or really junky)
- LARGE donations like washers, dryers, refrigerators etc can be picked up from your home! Let us know if you need help with pick-up.
- LOTS of volunteers! This is an ALL GISD BANDS fundraiser and we need LOTS of volunteers! HS students and parents alike are encouraged to log on to VolunteerSpot via http://www.georgetowneagleband.org/gb/more/volunteer/ to sign up to volunteer.
